Psychological alienation and its relationship to some aspects of the aggressive personality of handball players in specialized sports schools in Baghdad

The research aimed to identify the levels of psychological alienation among handball players in specialized sports schools and to identify the level of aggression among handball players in specialized sports schools. The researcher used the descriptive approach using the survey method and correlation relationships for its relevance to the nature of the research. The research community, which represents the handball players in the specialized sports schools, was deliberately chosen, and they numbered 42 players. The research sample consisted of 30 players, and the pilot study sample consisted of (5) players.
The researcher conducted a pilot study on (5) players from outside the research sample, during which the players’ understanding of the two scales and the clarity of the items and overcoming the difficulties that could occur in order to prepare for the main application of the two scales were identified. The researcher used (SPSS) to find statistical means. After presenting, analyzing and discussing the results,the researchers concluded that the handball players are characterized with a low level of psychological alienation as well as a low level of aggressive behavior. In the light of the conclusions , the researcher recommended conducting similar studies on the measure of psychological alienation and linking it to other psychological variables. He also recommended the use of psychological preparation with handball players in order to reduce their aggressive tendency.
