Abstract

The research aimed to build a measure of the psychological defense mechanisms of futsal players. The researchers used the descriptive approach using the survey method to build a measure of the psychological defense mechanisms of futsal players. The research community was determined from futsal players at Kirkuk University for the academic year (2023-2024), which numbered in number. (238) players distributed among (19) colleges. The College of Education for Girls and internal departments were excluded, and the total number of participating colleges became (17) colleges. The research sample was chosen from futsal players at Kirkuk University, who numbered (220) players representing (92.43%) of the research community. They were chosen intentionally, and (15) players were chosen who represented the exploratory experiment. They were chosen randomly by lottery and they were from outside the country. The research sample and (3) players were excluded because they did not complete the answer to the scale items. The researchers reached the conclusions, namely, constructing a measure of psychological defense mechanisms for futsal players. (5) domains were extracted and the number of its items was (42). The first domain was called (Confrontation) and contained (8) items. The second domain was called (Repression) and contained (7) Paragraphs.
