The effect of speed prolongation training exercises on the development of some functional variables, anaerobic capabilities, and basketball offensive skills

Abstract

The research aims to identify the effect of speed  prolongation training exercises on the development of some functional variables, anaerobic capabilities and offensive skills  among  players of the College of Physical Education and Sports Science basketball team, as well as to identify the differences between the pre and post tests of the experimental and control groups in the development of some functional variables and anaerobic capabilities and offensive skills among  players  of the team of the College of Physical Education and Sports Science in basketball, and to identify the differences between the posttests of the experimental and control groups in the development of some functional variables and anaerobic capabilities and  offensive skill  among the players of the team of the College of Physical Education and Sports Science in basketball. The research  sample consisted of  players of the team of the College of Physical Education and Sports Science at the University of Salah al-Din / Erbil in basketball, and the number (26) players were randomly chosen and divided into two groups, one is experimental and the other is control by the lot  method , and each group includes (13) players, then the two experimental experiments were conducted, and the main experiment represented by pretests of the variables under study,  then the training curriculum for speed prolongation was applied for a period of (10) weeks and at the rate of (3) training units per week for (90) minutes. The researcher used the experimental method because it is more appropriate to the nature of the research problem to be solved. The researcher used the Statistical Package System (SPSS) to extract accurate data and obtain results through the statistical applications provided by this statistical system and summarized as follows: Arithmetic mean, standard deviation, calculated value (t), probability value (with two probabilities), level of statistical significance, Statistical significance level (0.05) ≥ 0, Pearson correlation coefficient.
