Abstract
The phenomenon of sports fanaticism when playing sports is one of the clear, tangible and widespread phenomena in the sports field in general and basketball in particular, as many concepts such as racial, religious and political discrimination are associated with it, not to mention the misconceptions that are the main source that is a major reason for the excessive emotion that follows it. A lot of aggressive actions against opponents of wrong ideas, and thus the fanatic player or players generate imperatives that are not based on logic, and thus sharp fanaticism blinds insight and possesses the player or athlete, and that the research problem is embodied in a lot of good players when they lose their temper and their emotions are aroused, they lose many of their skillful and tactical responsibilities This will be a major negative result on the technical level of the player or players, especially in strong and decisive competitions. Extreme emotion is the sworn enemy of calm thinking and balanced behavior because it keeps the player from seeing many facts and reflecting on the course of fast play. Thus, most sports clubs suffer from manifestations of sports fanaticism. Which prompted us to study this phenomenon to stand at the level of mathematical fanaticism. As for the research approach, the researcher used the descriptive method in the survey method to suit the research problem. As for the research community, they are the coaches of the first and second division clubs, the researcher used the sports fanaticism scale aimed at identifying the level of sports fanaticism among basketball players and finding appropriate solutions to reduce this phenomenon. Intolerance depends on the player's physical and skill competence and the number of official matches among the players, and also that sports fanaticism is a major cause of distraction of the team members, increased tension and anxiety, and losing many points during the match periods.
