The research aims to identify: -
Identifying the level of teaching competencies to develop the teacher’s personality and the differences in the necessary teaching competencies among professors of colleges and departments of physical education and sports sciences according to two variables (scientific title, years of service). The researchers used the descriptive approach and the survey method, and the research sample was selected using a comprehensive, intentional inventory method. The research included (126) teachers from the college and departments of physical education and sports sciences in the universities of Nineveh Governorate. The researchers used the teaching competencies prepared by (Hamdan, 2011). The questionnaire consisted of (70) items distributed over five dimensions. The questionnaire items were answered according to five alternatives, and the data was processed statistically using the percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, alpha coefficient, and analysis of variance using the statistical program (SPSS) in analyzing the data. .
The researchers concluded the following: -
1- Investing the lesson time is good and distributing the lesson time among the lesson elements.
2- The teacher’s investment in training opportunities, meetings, and scientific seminars to raise the level.
3- Building a self-evaluation process by the physical education teacher regarding his level of performance according to the teaching competencies necessary for him.
