The effect of the cognitive apprenticeship strategy on students’ learning of some athletics activities

The cognitive apprenticeship strategy is one of the teaching strategies that adds a deeper understanding of the different meanings of the diversity of the methods that it consists of, works on learning events based on understanding and thinking, and reduces individual differences between students to reach a high degree of competence and ability to deal with different situations, in addition to Paying attention to theoretical knowledge of the activities to be taught, as being satisfied with skill learning alone is not sufficient to measure the extent of learning. Theoretical knowledge reflects the ideas and strategies of the information in memory and its role in skill learning, including the subject of athletics in general and the activities (javelin throwing, weight pushing, long jump) in particular, which are among the basic activities contained in the school curricula, in addition to being among the basic human movements. It is one of the activities that has gained its importance as it is a necessary physical activity used in preparation for all types of sports, competitive, recreational, health and educational activities.
The study aimed to:
- Identify the effect of the cognitive apprenticeship strategy on learning some athletics events (javelin throwing, weight pushing, long jump) for students.
- Identifying the differences in influence between the cognitive apprenticeship strategy and the method used by the teacher in learning some athletics events (javelin throwing, weight pushing, long jump) for students.
