The effect of two teaching methods: individual self-competition and self-simulation on students’ acquisition of the technical performance of some complex handball skills

Abstract

The importance of the research is evident, and from here came the importance of the research to raise the level of teaching complex skill performance in terms of speed in the game of handball according to correct teaching methods that help self-reliance in education, whether in competition or simulation, which are considered two different methods of application and performance, but they give one goal for learning. The research aims to identify the effect of the two methods of teaching self-individual competition and self-simulation in acquiring the technical performance of some complex handball skills for students. The researcher used the experimental approach with an equal group design (two experimental groups). The research sample was determined by a sample of third-stage students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Saladin University. Standardized tests were chosen to measure the speed of complex skill performance, as well as conducting important exploratory and experimental field experiments, applying the two teaching methods and knowing their effect. And compare them using the required statistical methods.
