The research objective is to use mental training, which aims to develop the individual to achieve the required levels through increasing the quality of the ideal performance by developing the mental skills .The research significance lies in the use of concepts of motor learning and practical applications to identify the best impact on learning and identifying the means and timing of use in an optimal method, which helps learning some of the basic skills of basketball and within the conditions of the lesson of physical education. The researcher used the experimental approach for its suitability for the research procedures. The research sample consisted of (40) students of the first stage, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Science, Anbar University, divided into two control and experimental groups with 20 students per group. The researcher used computational methods to process data statistically. The researcher concluded that the teaching approach prepared by the researcher according to the mental training program had a positive effect on learning the skills of peaceful scoring and free throw.
