Reaction speed and its relationship to the performance of some Futsal goalkeeper skills

Abstract

The importance of the research lies in trying to find out the effect of reaction speed and its relationship to the performance of some skills specific to futsal goalkeepers. Through the researcher watching most of the futsal matches for third-year students in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences/College of Basic Education, he noticed that there is a clear weakness in the reaction speed of the goalkeepers, which negatively affects the performance of the goalkeeper’s skills well, which leads to not achieving results. Good in the match, and the research aims to know the relationship between reaction speed and some goalkeeper skills in futsal, as well as identifying the extent of the impact of the relationship between reaction speed and some goalkeeper skills in futsal. The most important conclusions were that there was a correlation between reaction speed and some of the goalkeeper skills under study. The researcher recommends that teachers apply the reaction speed scale and identify the difficulties and problems that goalkeepers face because of what the scale contains. There is also the need to use training tools and methods to assist in training the basic skills of goalkeepers because of their positive impact on developing their abilities and potentials, as well as increasing their competitiveness and excitement factor.
