Abstract

The research  deals with the treatment of alternative perceptions of sports  concepts through learning with a strategy based on constructive learning which is the strategy of generative learning in teaching sports concepts. The research aims to :                1.Prepare an educational curriculum based on the use of the generative learning strategy that is appropriate to the capabilities of the research sample.                             .  2. Idnetify the effect of the educational program on learning and cognitive achievement of some handball skills

The experimental method was used, and the research sample was chosen from the fourth stage students, Department of Physical Education and Sports Science, College of Basic Education, Al-Mustansiriya University.

The results revealed that the effectiveness of generative education has a positive effect on learning to perform and the cognitive achievement of some skills of handball. The resercher recommended  that teachers  should be urged and supported to use these modern strategies in the education process.
