The aim of our research is to clarify the extent to which heads of scientific departments use digital transformation to ensure the quality of education in higher education institutions. This was evident through the research problem, to the necessity of having leaders and thinkers, intelligent with intellectual abilities and non-traditional skills, which depend on the foundations of developing knowledge and experience, and its principles and forming perceptions and visions related to the future. Modern digital applications have spread everywhere, invaded all fields and deepened in daily life. Here comes the importance of the role of heads of scientific departments in leading their departments in their educational institutions to safety in light of the sudden changes in the performance of the digital leadership role, as they must possess the technical skill and quality necessary to ensure education, and it is necessary to prepare and train individuals and groups to adapt their systems in order to reach a common vision towards digital transformation and prepare generations of the digital world capable of using Digital technologies, and this will not be achieved without digital leadership capable of employing the digital assets available in the educational institution, so the researchers used the descriptive approach using the survey method and prepared the research questionnaire, and the community and the research sample were represented by the instructors who teach in the departments of the College of Physical Education for Sports Sciences - Al-Mustansiriya University for the academic year (2023-2024). Their number is (96) individuals, the researchers concluded that most of the heads of departments in the College of Physical Education for Sports Sciences practice digital transformation in their administrative performance and in a good way.
